June 7 Prayer
Blessings of encouragement come through affliction and everything in heaven and on earth will come together in unity under Christ. Where do I put my trust and whom do I look to for consolation? ‘Look to Him that you may be radiant with joy, and your face may not blush with shame.’ Ps.34:6 Today receive the blessing of joy, May it rise up in you knowing that you are sharing all things with Christ. Suffering and sorrow last for the night but joy comes in the morning. So rise up this day and give thanks. Receive the blessing of endurance, He will see you through this. May the blessing of His will be accomplished in your life. May you receive the riches of God's grace, wisdom and understanding. As you look to the sufferings of Christ may you know the mysteries held there. May your joy be made full. Lord, we rise up this day and put our full trust, hope and joy in You. Our faces are fixed on this blessing found in you today. Amen DB Eph. 1;4-10, 2Cor.1:3-7 June 5 Prayer
Saturday Slow Down A Blessing to Slow into stillness Let a lightness emerge in the space for waiting. There is a lighthouse there centered embedded upon a strong solid jetty out in the middle of the sea. Where storms come and waves rise high ‘There is a rock much higher than I.’ A strength from a contentment in knowing All things will pass away Only the One will remain forever. Today in the slow down receive this blessing of stillness. Where you are striving, receive the blessing of surrender. Allow your soul to slow down into the center of the here and now. In the oneness with the One that makes you strong, solid and sure in the passing of time. And say your own yes to the blessing that is within you. Say a yes to…‘It is well with my soul.’ Amen DB Philip 4:10-13 June 4 Prayer
“I will praise the Lord, oh my soul, I will praise the Lord of my life.” Ps.146 In every situation The impossible and the dismal, in the daunting future and challenges to come. Where do I put my gaze, is where my hope will be found. When I am hopeless then I must attend to what is new emerging in life’s changing patterns. Do not fear change, nor difficulties for they will have their way in you if you let them. God will meet us in the impossible situations and give us the strength and peace we need in the moment. “God is the power of the future.” Ilia Delio This is where I place my gaze and find my hope. This is how I praise by giving thanks for his presence in me. ‘Lord, I praise you and I gaze upon your beauty through the eyes of prayer. In the stillness and the beginning in again I see that in every challenge You are there. Help me to attend to what I see as a new pattern for me to embrace. Help me to lean into the new ways through an openness of my spirit. To believe you in the impossible and to always have hope in the future. For you are the power of my future and our future so we as your people can praise you and trust you in every situation. Praise and glory be to God, creator of change who is forever faithful. May we always seek you and always praise you through our ceaseless prayers. Amen Ps.145 DB June 3 Prayer
‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind and all your strength.’ That’s the greatest commandment we know we are to follow. Can we actually follow and obey this seemingly impossible and greatest task from God? ‘For everyday we are put to test, as sacrificial offerings we are given to God And he takes us to himself.’ He has formed us from dust and oh, how back to dust we return every time we fail to love wholly with every part of our being. God gives us Grace and peace as a promise when we return to love. When we let The Holy Spirit form and shape love within us. It’s his creative power and gift to do so. Pause a moment to see the hands of God reshaping your heart and your soul, your mind and your body. See what it looks like and how beautiful it becomes. Pray, ‘Lord, awaken my heart to the shape of love and to the form it is to take. Shape love in my heart and in my thoughts about myself and about others. Help me to carefully watch what I let settle there in my mind. Is it true, and noble or false and shameful? Are my thoughts pure or impure, lovely or awful? Lord, I give all I know of who I am to rise upward and let your love take shape in my inner heart today. Let love shape me in every way, in every moment of the day. May I be a true sacrificial offering of love for you.’ Amen Mark 12:28-34,wisdom 3:6-9,Philip 4:8-9 DB June 2 Prayer
God is of the living not the dead. Where there is death there is life That is what resurrection is all about. Daily dying and finding life We want to know Christ, the resurrection and life. So open up a window in your soul, Open it wide to let the wind of the spirit life blow through. Where there is death, pain and suffering let your faith rise up with hope in his word. ``Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe and you will receive it.” Says the Lord. Today we come and leave behind us what is past, and lean hard into what is ahead of us. ‘Pressing on the goal which God has called us heavenwards in Christ Jesus.’ Pause here to feel his spirit in yours as you breathe in. Take in the blessing of the morning to begin again. Every breath is a gift. Lord, we receive faith to walk with you today. We look for the open windows in others that need a hopeful word and a kind, helping hand. Thank you that you hear our prayers and will give us our true desires. We open up the hidden places of our hearts for you to breathe your life into us today. Amen Ps.17, Mark 11:23-24, Ps.130:5-6, Phil.3:10-14 DB June 1 Prayer
Overwhelmed Pushed beyond my own limits Under my breath I say, ‘..all will be well, Yet all is the chaos stressors on every side Planned schedule collapsed today. Pause, pivot, adapt to the moment ‘All will be well, ...let nothing disturb you.. God is enough when you are not enough.’ With a worn out back and weak hands, on feeble knees I look up to cry out, O God, You are enough! You are here for me right now in this situation. On my knees I receive all that I need for when I am pushed beyond my limits You are limitless! Your strength never runs out. I give you all of my worries, all of my cares, my weak and worn out hands to surrender to You. I surrender to love, I surrender to peace I surrender To your will All will be well. Amen. DB |
