June 18 Prayer
Treasures Some we see Some we hold unto Some we do not know we even have Some have a hold on us ‘Lord may we have the light in our eyes to live and see the treasure deep within. The Light to hope, Light to share your treasure that is beyond all human gain. Give us a balance in what we have and what we hold that is healthy. In you we have all we need May the Blessings you give us never overshadow the treasure you are in us. Jesus, Light our way today so our whole body and soul is healthy and whole. Jesus, Light the gift of being In us and for others today we pray. Amen DB Matt.6:19-23 Matthew 6
‘Empty words, babbling on and on, thinking the more we talk the more we will be heard. Our prayers may become like that. Our repeated questions, answers and cliches are Empty words.’ God is waiting in the spaciousness of silence… Where no words are necessary Where heaven becomes a hallowed space to enter the kingdom come and the Fathers will is done And all else will fall into place when we are able to wait in silence. To become a real lover of the heart Where being in presence is enough to be loved and loving God becomes prayer . Come to prayer now and hold this space with God in your heart with a quiet stillness of being. Let him begin to pour into you the confidence of being loved and that being is enough without words. Breathe in the seeds of life that will become an expression of loving God in prayer. “May the Lord direct your hearts in the love of God and to the endurance of Christ.” 2Thess.3:5 Now Lord as we leave this place of peace and stillness we ask for this presence of being to become an awareness of your presence in and through us this day. May we use the gift of speech to plant seeds of life. ‘Let our one desire and choice be what is conducive to the end of which we are created, to the deepening of God's life in us.’ Amen June 16 Prayer
Sow generously you and you will reap generosity Give out of what you have Give away who you are For God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance. For He is the sower that plants every good thing in our lives. We have enough of everything, So we may share abundantly in every good work . ‘ Lord we are full of everything good thing you have given us. Help us to… Look for the good and not evil. Where there is lack and hunger in others,… May we sow generously the words of life without correction and condemnation. May we embrace the weak with arms of compassion and open the door to the needy through our comfort and advice. May we cover the naked with kindness and love to show them the better way. Thank you Father that in doing these things we may do them unto you without receiving any recognition. For you see our hearts and will reward what is done in secret. You are enough and our sufficiency is in your goodness that will never run out. May we scatter abroad the seeds of goodness that are ours to give away and in refreshing others we will be refreshed. Amen “God is a Good without drawbacks, and a well of living water without bottom and the soul is made in the image of God to know and love God.” Johannes Tauler 2Cor.9:6-11, Matt.6, Prov.11:25 DB June 15 Prayer
Morning is here Awaken to the word that calls you into hope Something is new in the beginning of a day. Mercies from God just be alive to breathe and walk and see and hear. Oh may we enter this wonder of a new day and really listen to the invitation of break through. Just as the first morning is broken and enter the flow of unceasing loving kindness from the Father of all creation. ‘Excel in everything, in faith, in speech In knowledge, in eagerness to give, To be apart of something bigger than yourself. To be a part of what God is recreating on the earth.’ Take in a deep breath and apray a prayer of participation; Lord, create something new in me today. I open my hands for you to fill them with creative acts of love and to give myself to others. Renew in me an eagerness to participate in the privilege of sharing what you have given to me. May I be faithful to your presence through this day and follow the flow of your love and kindness. May my lips praise you with hope for your mercies never cease, and may I believe that they will sustain the newness you bring. Let this new morning be broken in me. To see your beauty and glory on this new day. Amen DB 2Cor. 3:1-9, Lamentations 3:22 June 14 Prayer
..”having nothing yet possessing all things.. Come closer Closer to the one who holds you. Keeps you, having your mind set on nothing else No one else No judgment No predicted future outcomes but set in peace, Placed In goodness. “For God remembers all of your offerings, all of your sacrifices. He gives you your heart's desire and will fulfill every one of your plans.” Ps.20:3-4 I tell my soul… ‘Come a little closer and you will find that having nothing you possess all things, When I am unrecognized I am acknowledged by him. In death, I live, When sorrowful, I will rejoice Even in my own poverty I am able to enrich many. May we all come a little closer today to God's will and heart for each one of us. May we loosen our grip on the things that tie us down and keep us from living freely, So we may be able to give generously to others in our lives. ..’Having nothing yet possessing all things.’ For we have everything in You, Jesus! Amen 2Cor.6:1-10 DB June12 Prayer
Saturday Slowdown There is beauty here waiting to unfold. There are hearts that behold. Hearts to enter in. The heart of Jesus, The heart of his mother Mary. One, a sacrificial giving Another, a yielding to the giving Until the two become one through a consensual yes. There is beauty waiting to enter In you and in me. By the spirit That he gives us When we take the the time to slow down- Listen a while, yield to and even let your heart come to a stop- until it begins to beat again…. This time with the merciful, remarkable love of God that no one and nothing could ever diminish. “May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and the endurance of Christ.” 2 Thess. 3:5 Let the beauty of Christ and the communion of the Holy Spirit unfold within your heart today. Amen DB June 11 Prayer
Enter the heart of Jesus His sacred heart The one God the Father reveals himself through wounded by our sins, Hurt by our wandering far from his love… His heart remains open His heart is tender towards us He Heals us when we do not even recognize him. God lifts us up like a small child Draws us close into his chest Holds and protects us With cords of kindness and mercy Leading us with bands of love As a good, good Father does. And when we stray He does not turn away rather He bends low down to where we are to meet us there. ‘Lord, Our God May we do the same. Where Christ is not known, May we show kindness and love. Where there is longing Make yourself known through us. Draw us ever closer into your heart we pray. “It is in your ever-infinite goodness that I want to lose myself, O Heart of Jesus! I hide myself in your Sacred Heart.” Therese of Lisieux Amen DB Hosea 11:1-4,8-9, Eph.3:14-17 June 10 Prayer
‘Whenever we turn to the Lord the veil is removed.’ Veils are like masks, they hide our faces from each other. We hide ourselves when we isolate and withdraw from others, and from God. For God is revealed in our faces, the face of Christ will be seen when we turn to God. Now we have been unveiled, as a bride on her wedding night. Vulnerable, trusting and in love. We have the very spirit of God in us and where the spirit of the lord is, there is freedom. All barriers are removed! Pause to hold a moment of wonder and awe that God loves you this much. Pray; ‘Jesus, you are the revealed face of God. His glory shines through you unto us. As we return to you we give you permission to remove our veils. We let go of our masks that hide us from other. Shine your light of glory upon our faces so our smiles are seen and your love displayed through our words and deeds. We come out of hiding and enter the dance of freedom. Let your spirit breathe new life upon us and in us once again. School us in the dance steps of freedom with unveiled faces. May your glory shine through us in the world of darkness we pray. So others that are hopeless and blind may see. You Light the way. Amen 2Cor.3:15-4:1-6 DB June 9 Prayer
“The spirit gives life and the ministry of the spirit comes in glory” God’s glory, Who he is in fullness through Jesus, He has placed in us. The law written in our hearts is freedom and in this place we become His glory. As we look to Jesus and love him with all our hearts we then will reflect the very glory of God to the world. Pause to ponder the place where you are with this. ‘Oh God, we are so humbled by this gift of grace given to us. How can we reflect your glory when we are broken down, full of ourselves, full of judgments, rules and constraints? Forgive us for placing rules and shoulds upon ourselves and others that we can never live up to. We freely receive again the work of grace by your spirit in us. Come with your glory to overshadow all of the restrictive bonds enslaving us. All the walls we have erected that hold us back from being true to who you have made us. We welcome the power of your spirit in our lives to set us free. May our faith always be demonstrated by love to overlook the shortcomings of others. May we look at each other and ourselves through the eyes of Christ’s sacrificial love. We will tend to your spirit of glory within us today and live whole lives reflecting your beauty. In Jesus' glorious name we pray. Amen 2Cor.3:4-11, Gal.5:1-6 DB June 8 Prayer
All things Jesus, In all things before all things holding all things together created all things. We, are in him where the fullness of God dwells A part of his work to reconcile, remake, retore, To Heal and renew all things. We are the light of the world. Pause here to reflect and pray; Begin in me O Lord,my God, You are my light. Brighten the darkness about me. Let me not lose my taste for goodness, in my attitude toward others. May I be the light to shine as you have declared, Jesus, your church to be. May we be so close to you, so focused on your beauty. Jesus, the fullness of God, Become full in us, we pray. Show us this day the one that you have prepared for us to bring your gracious light. All things, Jesus, All things in you. Amen Col.1:15-20, Matt.5:13-16, 2 Sam. 22:29 DB |
