August 31 Prayer
All things will come to an end The end of the day, the end of the week, the end of a month and a season… All things will come to an end The end of fear and death When he comes. He comes to save us, and encourage us, to be filled with light, His light For he calls us children of light. Today we pray a blessing for hope and light where there is darkness and hopelessness. ‘Would you O’ lord speak the word of life and light into us this day? Where we have been encircled with the shadow of fear and doubt, and desiccated in our souls, let the good placed in us be nurtured and cared for. May the light of your presence surround us. May we say yes to the joy of being awakened to the beauty of life you have given us. Come, Lord Jesus with your clarifying light and quicken in us a new awareness of God as our all in all. We trust in your ways this day and believe that you save us and crush our enemies and everything that robs us of life. We now offer this same prayer for those who have no hope or light, Meet them and save them. And may we surrender to the way you plan to display your light through us today. May we encourage and build up everyone we meet. Christ in us is the light of life. “You will show me the way of life, grant me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.” Ps.16:11 Amen Dee Brill 1 Thess.5:5-11,Is.35:4, Ps.27:1 August 30 Prayer
Believe, hope, peace is here. Restoration is in the making. Paul tells us to grieve not as those without hope for we live as the resurrected Christ. 1 Thess.4:13-18 The earth is quite fragile right now, held in captivity from our own foolishness and lack of reverence. Let us turn our eyes around now and take a look at the creator lifted high above all this mess. Shake off the doom and gloom, return To Be still and humbly Show reverence with hope. We pray; ‘May we seek You above all others. We have trusted in some that have let us down, but have hope in only One. Restore and revive our life again in You. May your sovereign Spirit be upon us and let the truth reign in us over our human condition. Lk.4:18-30 I ask where have I not been reverent in my actions and in my attitude toward this sacred ground I am standing on? Where have I stepped away from recognizing God in my own limitations to strive in making things my own way? Where have I excluded and judged others? When have I let an opportunity to love and show grace pass me by? Lord, call me deeper now into your grace to be still. I pray and declare an end to all war right here inside of me, So that you will smash every weapon and bring peace to all nations. May we be a part of your greater plan. Today we place our hope in the resurrected glorified Christ. Let our lives reflect your glory by changing us moment by moment. We surrender to your life in us to make amends and bring your peace. Amen Dee Brill 1 Cor.15:20-24, Ps. 85:6-9 August 28 Prayer
Saturday Slow Down ‘ For the Lord is brighter than the brilliance of a sunrise! Wrapping himself around me like a shield, generous with his gifts of grace and glory. ...We will never lack any good thing, for he provides it all!’ Ps.84:11 Today I slow down enough so that I have enough Enough to feel the good that has been place within me Enough grace to forgive myself where I have failed to live Enough compassion to forgive the offense of others Today I Slow down For You to fill my emptiness, To calm my restlessness In the brilliance and light of a new day I will relish this time of being wrapped, and comforted, stilled and quieted in my soul . Today I will look for you in the sky and the sea, in every tree, in every creature and will be glad. For you are everywhere I am. Amen Dee Brill August 27 Prayer
There is a hope that does not disappoint For we have been appointed for this time To be awake and to be ready, To be filled with plenty of reserves so we do not run out of oil to light our way. Oil and light The fuel that keeps us going. What is it that keeps your hope alive? What is it that awakens you to joy each day and gives you great peace? Pause to pray; Here I am, O wisdom from above Fill my empty lamp, reveal your word to keep me from falling, keep me from missing your calling, keep me from dis-appointment. May I be present to the appointment of your presence. I look not to my lack, nor the scarcity of the moment but with the hope that you have given me. Is all that I need. May your word become the treasure to find and keep deep within me as precious oil. May your guiding boundary light the way to see more clearly, the questions to ask with wisdom by my side as a counselor while all is well, and my comfort in care and grief. Here I am Lord, I will be still and let your oil be poured over me, and in me. Fill me once again to overflow with strength and grace, to be ready and awake. ‘Come, Holy Spirit, Come. Ignite within me the living flame of your love.’ Light the way for us all this day We pray Amen DB Mat. 25:1-13,ROM.5:5, Ps. 119:162,165 August 26 Prayer
Moses asks God, ‘And who is going with me? Show me who you are and teach me how to follow.’ We are called into a life of goodness and godliness, to know and follow a God of truth and love. We are called to lead others on this path, but it is not always an easy one. Sometimes we are tired, confused and feel like we are the only one. Who’s with me, you may ask? Pause here to pray and here the words of God as he spoke them to Moses; “My presence will go with you and I will give you rest.” Wherever you need assurance and peace today breathe in his presence there. Where you are tired of trying Just receive the cup of living grace. Lord, I desire to know you more and learn from your spirit. Teach me how to attend to your loving presence all around me. May I become one that overcomes fear and doubt as I experience your divine power to seek and know you more. I will drink from your cup of living grace. Your Peace guides me like a river. Thank you, O living presence that you go with me always, and may I be awakened to your presence in the eyes of the one that is before me. Called by your own glory and goodness. Amen DeeBrill Ex.33:12-14, 2 Pet.1:3, Is.48:17 August 24 Prayer
Jesus already knows our inner motives and the intentions of our hearts. Everything that is hidden He will bring to light. Nathaniel prejudged Jesus according to his family and town of origin yet Jesus saw him without any deceit. He saw him finding him. Let God look at you now where you are. Praying; Here we are In our everything. In our conflicted thoughts and doubts, And here You are Lord Looking at us Loving us into who you see us as truthful and true people waiting to be found. Here we are Lord Let the fire of your light Burn away all false judgments and the shame we carry because of them. Let the heat of your love reveal our true motives to follow you into the light. To bring hope and peace to the world around us. To be an example of your heaven on earth. Open us up to see your open heaven and find your gaze upon us. Let us see you seeing us, and finding us. To be known is the beauty of belonging and coming home to our true love. May we see him seeing us today in every encounter we have, to be our true selves, washed clean and made anew because of his life and peace living in us. ‘For I have found him, my heart's true love.’ Songs of songs 3:4 Amen Dee Brill John 1:45-51,1Cor.4:5, Ps.19:7 August 23 Prayer
Walk the path of peace To dwell in unity with our differences is to be able to turn our defenses into bridges. To go up to the mountain of God is to rise above the troubled waters And turn our weapons into tools that build bridges of peace. Lord, start with me to build a room for peace inside my mind and heart. To ask sincere questions of my brother and my sister, How can I be a friend or you? What is it that you really need? How can I recognize the beloved in you and in me? Praying; Lead us on this pathway with you Jesus, the prince of peace. Take our hands on each side of the dark valley below. Place the tools in our hands to create understanding, trust and love once again. So we may meet on the middle of the bridge as our paths cross Take us deeper into the realm of hope to believe you are the only answer for our quest for peace. Keep our hearts from being afraid and troubled so we may be free to walk your way of peace. ‘Lord, let it start with me today.’ May this be our prayer. Amen DeeBrill Is.2:3-5,Lk.1:78-79 August 21 Prayer
Saturday Slow down Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you Do not let your hearts be troubled nor be afraid …. A troubled heart will get you into trouble, A troubled soul, a troubled mind a never ending spiral of anxiety Unless you receive his peace. Today in the slow down take some time to receive Christ’s Peace that centers, nurtures, slows you down and grounds your whole being. Let his peace wash over the troubled places in your heart that trigger those ‘bigger than you’ emotions. Imagine all of your worries , anxieties, fears and shame, what was and what may come as rocks along the shore. Let the powerful and gentle waves of God’s ocean come crashing upon them, until they become salt and sand washed out far into the sea until all becomes one. One with the One peace that is stronger than any trouble here on earth. Today in the slow down, trouble your hearts no longer. For the sea of peace has come. Receive it upon your shore. Amen John 14:27 DeeBrill August 20 Prayer
‘One thing remains… Perfect love drives out fear ‘ What compels you , is it fear or is it love ? Fear drives us to act irrationally , illogically to do some things you never thought you would ever do. Fear will knock you over and pin you down, chain you to shame. One thing remains though, And this is the greatest … Jesus is always there, His love remains steady and constant. He will give you the ability to face your fears in the face of Christ . Pause here to pray; ‘Lord, I give you all of my regrets and the ways I have let fear control my life . I give you all of my memory now for you to wash over with grace that redeems and restores my thoughts. I give you all of the shame that I feel because of these regrets. May I always see your face first in the face of my fears through the power of your blood poured out for me. May I never forget your sacrifice for me. Your love never fails and will never give up on me. Your love remains. May I remain steady and centered in your love today . When the fears come let me be wrapped safely in the arms of love. May your love compel us to live fully in whatever comes today and never be driven by scarcity . For you are enough and all that we need. Amen 1Cor.13:13, 1John 4:18 DeeBrill August 19 Prayer
