October 6 Prayer
Lk.10:38-42, Ps.33:18 “ ...you are worried and distracted by many things; there is need for only one thing.” “Our soul is waiting for the Lord, our God, our help and our shield. In you do our hearts find joy; we trust in your holy name. May your faithful love be upon us, as we hope in you, O Lord.” What is the one thing that I need right now? What are the things that are distracting me for doing it? Jesus is here now in front of you and all around you. Even within you, so pause and breathe in his presence of being with you. “May everything that distracts me fall away and let my heart delight in your gaze for this very moment. Open my ears to listen deeply to the one thing you want me to hear. I offer up my hands to you this day. May they bless what you bless and care for the things that you are caring for. I offer up my word to you today. May they speak of what you speak of and call out the things that are needed for this moment. I offer up to you my eyes, may they look for you everywhere and see beyond the appearance of things seen. May my heart take in the one thing you have appointed for this very moment in time. Let us all find your joy here with us and around us today. May the faithful love of God, the peace of Christ, and the life of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen. October 5 Prayer
Epehesians 3, Galatians 1, Luke 10:29-37 “The mystery of the gospel was made known through a revelation of Jesus Christ. I pray over you a release of the blessings of God’s undeserved kindness and total well-being that flows from our Father God and our Lord Jesus Christ. The secret mystery of the Messiah is The gospel of grace.” I watch the multitude of leaves changing colors in the sky and fall to the ground. It is brisk and cold out , yet a beautiful fall sunny day to take a walk. Stopping to see the graces all around me, I ask the questions of my soul. What is it that I need to let fall to the ground in the season of my life? Where am I hurrying to complete a task or change the way things look on the outside that I am forgetting to care for the inside of me? There is this mystery called grace. The name of God is mercy. We are living in a time where we are called by grace to love one another as God loved us. (Jesus' words, not mine.) Where do I limit his call in me and how do I show this kind of undeserved favor and love to another? Prayer “Lord, make me a messenger of this wonderful news that we are wrapped into you as one. Help us to let the things that keep us from living in grace fall to the ground. Remind us of your kindness throughout the day so we may be thankful and show the same to others we meet. For it is in receiving that we are able to give and in the letting go that we are free to receive and release even more. Let us enter this season of autumn with open hands and hearts looking high and reaching wide. Let a smile be broadcast upon our face even under a mask when needed to wear, let your glory shine through. May this new season open places yet discovered in me and in you. Amen October 3 Prayer
“Here is the slumbering Christ, stirring to be awakened, to become the soul we clothe in earthly form and action. A holy sanctuary of adoration where our minds are stayed on God and kept in perfect peace... Where the secret places of the heart cease to be a noisy workshop.” —Thomas Kelly Near the end of Job’s questioning and wrestling with God he realizes everything he had heard and thought about God was not really who He was. Until his eyes were opened and he saw who He really Is. “I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes. I take back everything I said about you and repent.” Job 42:5-6 The heart is the place where we will wrestle with God, where our noisy workshop can crowd out any true revelation. Until we can stop, and look inside and hold those unanswered questions, and surrender them to an unknown God. Take a breath and hold your questions out to God as we pray; Jesus, you know the Father and desire to reveal Him to those who are yours. We come to you and ask for your revelation of the Father to be given to us. Lk.10:22 Everything we think we know about you we lay down at the foot of the cross. We make space in our souls for you to awaken in us a new God awareness unlike what we have known before. May we be your holy sanctuary as we keep our minds on you through your Holy Spirit. Show us how to see and how to clothe your vision and purpose within us into action. We confess we do not have the answers for all of our questions but trust that you will reveal the way before us. Awaken us in your perfect peace this day and fill us with adoration. Amen October 2 Prayer
“ I thank you God with all of my heart You have heard the words of my mouth In the presence of the angels I praise You. The Lord is high, yet looks upon the lowly... You have increased the strength of my soul.” Ps.138 There are angels that surround us, in our praying in our wandering, they are there to guide and protect us. Jesus tells us that in heaven the angels of children continually see the face of God.Mat.18. The angels surround and rescue us. Ps.34 Just think for a moment what it is like to have these supernatural heavenly beings here with us. In God’s presence, if we look to him for help, a wayless path will open up for you to become like a child and rest completely in the arms of a loving Father. To be vulnerable, still and silent. God is here to strengthen and comfort us as his children. Rest here a bit without striving or squirming about. To Pray, We humble ourselves before you God, You who are high and lifted up and look upon the lowly and humble. May our hearts seek for your face and be full of gratitude and praise. You surround us with your angels who are ever present before you. May we be that dwelling place today to be filled up with your strength and vision. We look to you for our help in everything we do and say. May our faces become radiant with joy because we behold you before us. Let no shadow of shame darken our faces as we let these heavenly beings surround us. May we become people of peace who practice being at peace with everyone. We worship You with awe and wonder as we enter a new day. Lead us on the childlike path of discovery and delight that is beyond us. May Grace and peace still our hearts. Amen October 1 Prayer
“I know my redeemer lives and will stand strong upon the earth. ...I will see Him.” Job 9 How long does a trial last and when will suffering be over? When will we see our redeemer live and bring justice upon the earth? We have only our own little lives to offer him but it is all we have. The Beloved hears our cries and draws close to those who seek him. Open your heart space to draw near to him today and pray. “ O God will you restore us, and grant us your salvation? In whatever we are facing may we still believe you are our redeemer. In our own small sufferings may we choose hope. May we seek You In simplicity and purity of heart. Help us to know the brevity of life and teach us your hidden wisdom. Strengthen us to forgive as You forgive. To act justly as You act justly. Give us courage to surrender ourselves to the Love of Jesus and the grace of the Holy Spirit. May we use every occasion to show love and see every situation as a potential step along the path of sanctity. “O God, restore your people to love and Let us be known as repairers of broken walls.” We seek you this day to restore all the broken places in our own souls and offer them up to you. For we know our redeemer lives and we will see Him, May we all do little things with great love today. Amen |
