August 23 Prayer

Walk the path of peace
To dwell in unity with our differences
is to be able to turn our defenses into bridges.

To go up to the mountain of God
is to rise above the troubled waters
And turn our weapons into tools
that build bridges of peace.

Lord, start with me to build a room for peace inside my mind and heart.
To ask sincere questions of my brother and my sister,
How can I be a friend or you?
What is it that you really need?
How can I recognize the beloved in you and in me?

Praying;
Lead us on this pathway with you Jesus, the prince of peace.

Take our hands on each side of the dark valley below.
Place the tools in our hands
to create understanding, trust and love once again.

So we may meet on the middle of the bridge
as our paths cross

Take us deeper into the realm of hope to
believe you are the only answer for our quest for peace.

Keep our hearts from being afraid and troubled so
we may be free to walk your way of peace.

‘Lord, let it start with me today.’
May this be our prayer.
