April 6 Prayer
John 20:11-18 She went looking, Stood there weeping, Outside the tomb She heard him call “woman” after her questioning then she met her longing when He called her name~ In our confusion and wandering with our questions Can we stop long enough outside ourselves To hear Him call our names? Turn aside quickly from the dark tombs of what if’s and blame to hear Him call your name now. And let Him send you, And let His words resound within you, And though you, Until you have no more shame holding you back, for you have met the risen Jesus. And He is risen in you! We pray, “Open the space within us to let your life breath, the peace of your Holy Spirit to send us out and tell others we have met You here.” Amen DB April 5 Prayer
John 21:4-12 Empty boats Empty hands, hearts turned back with empty nets Along a distant shore Awaits a new dawn breaking forth a new perspective of seeing Jesus the man They did not recognize without a change of heart. Pause a moment and look to the shore where Jesus is waiting for you to arrive. “O’Jesus help us to make a change, to pivot where we are and how we think so we do not miss You In our grief In our tensions with others. There you are guiding us into a new shore and a néw way of seeing, Of Being Loved by You! May our hearts be ignited with the fire you have started on the shore. May we turn around to place our hands and hearts where you are working, To give us everything we need and could ever desire, That we may live freely and give abundantly to everyone around us, the deserving and undeserving. And find Jesus on our shore of unexpected places. Amen April 1 Prayer
Maundy Thursday-John 13:1-15 He loved them till the end Holy hands feet made clean feet washed by holy hands Made holy He loved them till the end with holy hands He poured out water tied a towel to serve with hands to clean, hands to tenderly wipe and dry hands to fold, hands to hold, Feet that trod on earth’s floor. Feet to proclaim peace He knew, He choose you and me, for this time, this moment, to consent to holy hands placed on your head, your hands and feet. Let Him love you now in this way to cleanse all that is selfish and all that has shamed you in the past, and let this be a beginning again to be renewed on the inside. Yes, Jesus, you may wash my feet today and make me clean, all of me. Help me to wash the feet of my brother, my sister, my enemy and my friend. For you love us all till the end. Amen DB |
