June 30 Prayer

1 Kings 19:11-13

On top of a great mountain
In powerful God encounters
His Presence is so real
His Voice so clear

When we do not hear
and we cannot see
Where do we go?

There is the cave
Called the heart
When we draw in even

There when we are hidden
enshrouded with death
God draws near

A gentle whisper and He is there
In the rise and fall of our breathing

He is there

In the placing of your feet upon the floor
to take a step once more

He is there

The wind, the earth and the fire will come and go
But the gentle whisper we must listen carefully for.

Pause to listen to your own breathing to pray ;

‘Have your way dear Lord this day
To speak and show me the way
And let my eyes gaze upon your face in earthy matters
that I may see your grace there.

‘When you send forth your breath, we
are created, and you renew us again.’
Ps.104:30

Renew the hearts of your people we pray
to breathe your gentle spirit in us today.
