November 5 Prayer
‘The word is very near you, it is not so high up in heaven that you cannot reach it, nor so far across the sea that you must travel for it. It is so close in your mouth and in your heart so you may observe it. ’ Deut.30 What are you searching for so hard but cannot find? All one needs to do is to stop and listen long in the silence where the word may be heard. ‘Decisions may arise from the depths of your inner being where wisdom dwells. The Spirit who is the counselor will guide you as you abandon all to the Beloved and His divine plan will be revealed.’ Ps.78 Let the light of God's love fill you now and surrender to all of the Wors that is in you . Jesus, Word of life, we consider everything else to be as loss outside of the supreme good of knowing you. We confess that at times we are looking to others to make a way for us when the way is already there for us to walk on. Help us to turn away from our own self striving to change things and allow your word of truth to arise from within and lead us. May we lead the way of life and light as we follow you. Everything is yours that has been given to us and to you Lord we return it. May we live in your love and your grace this day. Amen November 4 Prayer
Psalm 46 ‘God is our refuge and strength, a loving presence always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will never fear even if every structure were to crumble away. God is in the midst of His city, secure and never shaken, his love will reign even in humanity’s desolation. At daybreak His help will be seen with the appearing of the dawn.’ No matter where you find yourself today take a moment and recenter yourself now. God is not shaken and will remain sure. Place your hope that God is above all nations and will be exalted throughout the whole earth. Surrender your anxiety! Be still, take a breath and know in your deepest knowing that the storms will pass. It will be well with your soul. All manner of things shall be well even if they do not look well to you. ‘Hear our cry O Lord, bend low your ear to our hearts and longing for your peace and justice to reign. We surrender our whole beings to your will and pray for peace in us and peace making through us. May we be compassionate and listen to one another with grace and may we, never, never give up on hope. Whatever your call is for each of us let us look for the kingdom of God that is pure, kind, peaceable, gentle and reasonable and live out that expression. Let us trust in a loving God that we can find our refuge and help to co-labor with. Restore us, we pray and let our hearts rise again in hope for the better things to be birthed and dreams to be fulfilled for our generation and the next. Lord bring your mercy and grace and heal the nations. We cease our striving and in stillness we say that You are God. May our hearts over flow with humility and may we speak beautiful life giving words to being inner healing to our spirits. In your great name we pray,’ Amen November 3 Prayer
“Let the same mind that was in Christ be in you,” Phip.2:5 As we come to prayer today let our minds bend low in humility with Christ that we may have his will to surrender to God’s higher will. May we be here with him, his arms reached out cruciform to hold this gap between. We surrender as we pray ‘Our Father, Holy is your name, May your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. We hold this space between the hard realities of what we see and the real world possibilities of what could and should be. May we stand with a stubborn hope that never gives up believing that good will come out of tragedy, peace will rule over our hearts and love will triumph over hate. So now we offer these prayers for our rulers and leaders this day for our nation. “O Lord our Governor, bless the leaders of our land, that we may be a people at peace among ourselves and a blessing to other nations of the earth. Lord, keep this nation under Your care…. Send down upon those who hold office the spirit of wisdom, charity, and justice; that with steadfast purpose they may faithfully serve in their offices to promote the well-being of all people. — Book of Common Prayer Almighty God, all thoughts of truth and peace proceed from You. Kindle in the hearts of all people the true love of peace. Guide every leader in every nation in Your pure and peaceable wisdom, so that Your Kingdom may go forward, till the whole earth is filled with the knowledge of Your love. — Francis Paget (1851–1911), Adapted We agree with our Father in Heaven that many will come to know your love and peace and find rest in you. May we be bearers of your hope and peace to all this day. In the name of the Father who is for us, the Son who is with us and the Holy Spirit who dwells within. Amen November 2 Prayer
Remember the ones that have gone before us and rejoice. “We are surrounded with a great cloud of witnesses to the life and faith, Throw off whatever hinders you, every wound and sin that slows you down. There is a path marked out for you, follow the one who is ahead and fix your gaze on Jesus, so you do not grow weary and lose heart.” Heb.12:1-3 Life is short and we can easily miss it if we let the clatter and clutter crowd out the hope of God that does not disappoint. Rom. 5:5 That is where we have a path, a way appointed for us to follow that is uniquely our own. Our life response is the legacy we leave behind. Oh Lord help us to live and follow you on the way that leads us to hope. Let our eyes be fixed on learning to watch where you are moving in our midst and allow our hearts to be filled with the love of God. We receive your Holy Spirit that has been given to us. We remember that You, Jesus endures the cross, suffering the shame and humiliation so we can come out of disgrace and enter grace. May we hold this freedom as the way to surrender our wills to your will. May we wait with expectancy that your hope in us will fulfill your promise in our lives. No matter the outcome of these days ahead we place our complete trust in you to accomplish your will on earth. Everything is yours, do with it what you will. Lead us on the way of hope with joy that you are in control. Amen |
