November 17 Prayer
There is no sun shining today, only a cloud enshrouded sky. I am thankful to be alive if wisdom is by my side. ‘Here am I, Mary responds to the Lord's call to be the host home in which the Christ child will dwell. ‘Even a sparrow finds a home, a swallow builds a nest to raise her young.’ ‘Wisdom has built her house, she calls, come and eat at my table, there is spread out for you everything you need to be nourished and fully live. Come partake.’ ‘Take and eat, this is my body broken for you.’ Leave your foolish ways behind, and grow in the way of understanding. Everyday we begin again. We can grow in our understanding by attending to the Christ that dwells within. Christ has made his home in you when you say yes to him. A dwelling place to abide in. He is your home and you are his. Hang out a while with your thoughts and feelings in prayer. Notice where your foolish ways have been and grow to choose wisdom. She is already there waiting for you to come and listen, to come and respond like Mary. Prayer... ‘Lord here am I, ready to serve You. I accept whatever You have for me. I surrender the old ways of doing and thinking that only lead me down a broken path. Jesus, you have everything I need. I come and eat from the bread that gives me life. May I pay attention to wisdom working in me today. May I bring the bread of life to others that are in need. Show me the hungry today that are desperate for a crumb. May they know there’s a feast already prepared for them to eat. Begin to live and let wisdom extend your life to be fruitful in every way.’ Amen Lk.1:38, Pr.9:1-6,11,Ps.84 November 16 Prayer
We are children of the day and the light. Even in the night and in the darkness there is a sense of light. Even when we see with our natural eyes that things are not well and we may not be well, there is a light of day that calls us back. Look and seek and find the light of day. It’s there waiting to greet you. The morning rises and a new day begins. God is near and Is closer to you then your very own self. His own Holy Spirit moves and breathes in you is the most intimate part of your life. Reflect on this thought to pray; Father of light , there is no shadow within you so we can come with courage to ask you what is in our hearts today. Where there is darkness and worry we breathe in your spirit of light. May we look for your grace in everything and everyone. May we drink from your fountain of life so our words come forth from being refreshed and not being parched when we speak to others. Make us ever attune to your life giving spirit within us, So we may be children of the day as you have designed for us to be. Show us the way we are to follow with wisdom by our side . May we grow with constancy in our devotion to you. Forever we are yours, Amen 1Thess.5:1-5, proverbs 3, John 8:12 November 14 Prayer
Love where you are and who you are. It is your birthright to return to. Made and formed by love, the creator has formed you to be complete. The future is a mystery but the here and now , this very moment has just begun for you to enter in. Enter into the freedom of being loved by God. As you breathe in the new day with all of its possibilities, ask where you are to set your gaze today? What are you to do? Rest in the knowledge that all things are possible from the smallest to the greatest deed. Every little act of love will not go unnoticed. Christ is our peace and is making us whole by healing our wounds. Peace makers are healers. ‘Lord may we become your peace with your life blood flowing in our veins. We surrender all of the lies we have lived by and receive your faith for today. Forgive us for the wrongs we have done and for placing our minds and thoughts on what has only produced anxiety and a schism between us. We receive your presence of peace to heal us and our world. May your love overwhelm everyone's circumstance and reframe what we see through eyes of love and endless possibility.’ Amen Peace be to you! November 13 Prayer
‘I was overjoyed to find some of your children walking in truth, just as we have received a commandment to do from the Father. This is not a new commandment, but the one which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another. And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the way, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you are to walk in it. 2 John 1:4-6 There is a path, a simple way to follow, and it is found by walking. It’s not that complicated but it will be hard. Because the way is made by walking in what you already know but have yet to embrace. The way of love leads you to the way of truth. One must start here on the journey with your heart given to God’s heart so he can lead you. The way is made by walking, not fearing what is ahead but knowing the way is love. O’Gracious God, With eyes wide open and not in pretense I come. I come sometimes hesitant, sometimes bravely, but always humbly, I must start walking once again. The Truth is staring right at me but I do not need to fear it’s shadow for You, the Beloved, will lead the way. I come to begin this journey again, and let your truth be placed in my inner being. Teach me the wisdom of the heart and forgive me for hiding in a false reality. There is nothing to fear in You, for You are Love and I am your beloved. So today I come and follow the way of love with You. Let me carry Your heart in my heart as You carry mine. As we consider this journey together of loving one another we ask for your help to follow the way. May we discern the path ahead in the light of your love and mercy come what may. Let Love lead the way! Amen November 12 Prayer
“Jesus was once asked by the Jewish religious leaders, “When will God’s kingdom realm come?” Jesus responded, “God’s kingdom realm does not come simply by obeying principles or by waiting for signs. The kingdom is not discovered in one place or another, for God’s kingdom realm is already expanding within some of you.” Luke 17:20-21 TPT There is a kingdom realm that is beyond this world of fear and darkness. It is the very presence of Jesus who not only declared that the kingdom had come but lived it out for us to receive. Now we have this presence within us. If the kingdom of God is like yeast in dough how does it want to expand in me to affect the world? What am I putting into my mind and soul that draws me closer to the presence of his kingdom within me? We can all become addicted to something. Some of us may be news junkies, food junkies, social junkies....fill in the blank. What do I want flowing in my veins? Only Jesus blood that never fails me, for he br his presence of redemption. I want to be a Jesus junkie with Christ’s love flowing in my veins, his mercy and kingdom reign in me. Pause and imagine all that Jesus desires for you freely given to replace the things you are holding on to instead of him. ‘Sweet Jesus, we receive your kingdom realm to come and rule in us today. May your love flow through us as easily as running water from a faucet. We will look for your kingdom here now among us and expanding in us. We confess our need for control and fears can overtake us and keep us from living fully in your kingdom realm. We make space now for the expansion that you desire to take place in us. May we not look to the world to meet our needs but allow your presence in us to meet the world’s needs. You are our king! We worship You in the splendor of the earth giving You all the glory! Fill us anew with the fullness of your kingdom realm so we may proclaim, Our God reigns! Amen November 11 Prayer
Remember- our past, our wounds, our failings, our arguments and battles and then remember ‘when the kindness and generous love of God our Saviour appeared, He saved us, not because we were right but because of his mercy.’ ‘We are to be considerate and gentle, peaceable, showing true humility to all.’ TItus 3:1-7 Our saviour has come to heal the wounds and bring his presence of peace. He has brought his mercy and grace to bathe us and bring a renewal within our souls. For a kindness and generous love to be born in us through the Holy Spirit. ...I hold my wounds before him now and ask for his wounds to speak to me. Look to the cross as you pray; As I touch your scars, dear Lord, may my spirit be washed anew with a mercy and peace that will heal my wounds. I remember all the enmity that is within me, the fractured pieces and allow your peace to come once again and make me whole. Re- member me. Re-member your Church. Re-member every part of your body to bring peace and kindness through your grace in your church we pray. Cause us all on this remembrance day to lay down our weapons and wounds and take up the mantle of your loving kindness and mercy. Oh but for the grace that goes before us now, May we be filled overflowing with the love we have received by your mercy so we may carry your peace every place we go. May his peace enfold you, settle within you, down to your very toes and rise up to extend through your hands that reach up to the heavens and out to all that are around you. May you attend to this presence of God’s kindness toward you to be his grace to others this whole day. Peace be with you! Amen November 10 Prayer
‘Day by day conveys the message, and night unto night imparts the knowledge.’ Ps.19:12 ‘For the grace of God appeared bringing salvation to all.’ Titus 2:11-14 ‘He will cover you with his feathers, He will shelter you with his wings.’Ps.91 There is a safe place, a shelter, a refuge from fear, from evil, from disease, from hopelessness. ‘Wings and feathers are the metaphor used here in Ps.91. Angels come bearing a message, we can see it in creation all around during the day and hear it in the middle of the night's stillness. Where we are restless and wrestle and do battle in our souls. There is a place to come and hide under safety. It is not a place where we run away from life but where we run into life. Our lives are to be trained in the grace freely given. We are made a people of his very own, redeemed and purified to be totally committed to the kingdom works that are beautiful in God’s eyes. So now come and just be hidden in Christ under His wings of Grace. Snuggle in and know that you are his own, covered and protected. Jesus, the divine presence shows us the ways to be human. He is our exemplar to follow. We Pray to the Lord; ‘We come and climb under your wings of grace today. May we receive the courage we need to become more like you in the world. Show us the beautiful things we are to do and say, to release and obey. We wait in blessed hope for the manifestation of the glory of our great God and savior Jesus Christ. We pray and agree with the work of redemption for the whole world. We lift up those we know and love near to our hearts. May they receive the message of grace and salvation and know they are yours and belong to you. Great are your works and great is your faithfulness! May we all become ‘Like a feather on the breath of God.’ St. Hildegard Amen November 9 Prayer
‘Everything will flourish where the river flows’ Ex.47:9 ‘Those who live in God’s dwelling will find rest under the wings of love and declare ‘ You are my safe place, my strength. In you alone will I trust.’ Ps.91 Today I come to the source of the river that flows in and through me for God is that sure place. Where the river flows everything grows and brings refreshment to those who are nearby. Can we cling closely to the source of all life and trust with our whole hearts that this river of God’s Grace is enough to nurture and sustain us for the days ahead? Imagine now this river flowing and that you are planted right along the edge where your roots may continually take a drink from. Your leaves are always green and your branches are full of fruit for all that pass by. You do not worry or try to control the river; you simply rest there and let the water do it’s work for you and through you. This is the place of prayer, of letting go and trust. ‘So today Lord, we rest and we trust that you are the source of all life and your love will guide us back home to you. Let our trust in you be the pathway to where you are dwelling in us. May we have a renewed vision for the world and our place in it for the days to come. Pour out your living waters of grace upon us so we may allow your river to run through us and out into the world around us. We rest, we trust, we delight in your presence this day. Amen November 7 Prayer
Blessed is the one who trusts in You, O Lord. ‘I have learned the secret of being,... I have the strength for everything through Him who empowers me.’Philippians 4 As we arise and look into the day ahead there is a secret place to find and that place is right here inside of you. In every circumstance and in every situation there is a dichotomy of being. What we have and what we have not. Who we look to for help and who we already have as our help. You have enough right now because Christ empowers you. As we read the following verses by from 2 Corinth.6 :7-10 take in that dichotomy and surrender your situation to the ever present Christ who gives you the strength to do the next right thing. “By the power of God working through us,... Amid honor or dishonor, slander or praise-- even when we are treated as deceivers and imposters-- we remain steadfast and true. We are unknown nobodies whom everyone knows. We are frequently at death’s door, yet here we are, still alive! We have been severely punished yet not dead. We may suffer, in sorrow yet in every season we are always found rejoicing. We may be poor, yet enriching many. We seem to have nothing, yet in reality we possess all things.” ‘Lord may we find our secret pace with You today and trust that you have given us everything we need for this very hour and for this very day. Thank you for your wisdom that will rise up and meet us and grant us the discernment that we ask for. We rest in the knowledge and secret of being everything in You. Amen November 6 Prayer
We look not to the world's solutions but to the cross of Christ where our life begins. “But there’s far more to life for us. We’re citizens of high heaven! We’re waiting the arrival of the Savior, the Master, Jesus Christ, who will transform our earthy bodies into glorious bodies like his own. He’ll make us beautiful and whole with the same powerful skill by which he is putting everything as it should be, under and around him.” Philippians 3:20-21 MSG It is comforting to know that the work of reconciliation for all is the work of Christ on the cross. This instrument of death mysteriously brings an otherworldly life that remains forever. This truth we hold unto tightly and stand firm without wavering in the midst of uncertainty. We confess our worry and our shame of having our minds dragged downwards away from your cross of life. May our eyes gaze upon your cross today and see that You subdue and hold everything and everyone under and around you. We offer all of those that are walking in darkness without the knowledge of your cross before you now. May they come to meet you on the way and encounter with their own eyes that you are the love and light they long for. That you will make right the wrong things on earth as they should be. We ask for eyes to see everyone today as on the way to meeting you. May we value each person as one that you are making beautiful and whole through the power of your cross. May we learn to live from our prayers. Most beautiful and wise savior we praise and pray in your name, Jesus. Amen |
