August 6 Prayer
‘But when they became fully awake, they saw his glory…’ Awaken us to the fullness of God in Christ. God revealed his complete self in Jesus. Bring your weary body and blurred vision into God's presence to be changed now. We pray to the Lord; ‘May we become more than stargazers, fully awake to your glory in us. As you were changed before the disciples eyes, would you change our eyes to see you beyond the visible. Beyond the roaring seas and turbulence of our world. As we emerge into something other than normal may your glory shine upon us. May we reveal your likeness as we become fully awakened out of our slumber. Let us not go back to the way things were but allow your transfiguration to take place in us. In the way we operate our daily lives and in the way we diverge or intersect with others. May the work you completed on the cross be the message we bring for reconciliation of all things. We awaken today to the power of change. May we look through an new window of prayer and stillness, love and adoration to be in your glorious presence. Transform the way we look at what is happening around us. For you are the only hope for the distant seas, Come visit the earth we pray and send your rain to make the streams overflow with your glory. Amen DB Lk.9:29-30, Col.1:19-20,Ps.65:5-9 August 5 Prayer
God appears Even in our arguments and complaints, contention and anger, and in our diminished hope for things to turn out well. He appears when we pray, He appears when we blame others , when we…. As you pray today, bring all of your feelings and tell him all. God is strong enough to handle all of you. Strong enough to bring water from a hard stone rock. ‘Lord, we seek your presence. Even in the hard places of our souls where we do not like how we are feeling inside. Soften our dry parched landscape when we complain and in our despair with your gentle stream of living water. May we see your path before us and become once again an inspiration of hope. May we rise up and walk through the wilderness with the keys of your kingdom. All praise be to You Lord Jesus who splits open the boulder of despair and death to bring forth resurrection. Give to us a holy courage to speak to the boulders that block the way of life in us and others Turn our complaints into awe of who you are and thanks for where we are. Lead us this day into the impossible that we may see where your glorious presence appears..’ Amen DB August 4 Prayer
Peace will come when we cry out for mercy. When we first allow the very breath of God To fill our lungs, His peace to come into the depth of our prison of fears. Healing our wounds, Exposing the lies of what and how we think about others. Jesus so true, so bold, so strong, So tender to see what we need. As the woman cries out for mercy she receives more than crumbs. She receives the grace of God to reveal his mercy to her. She receives acceptance as he rewards her faith and humility to cry out to him for help. Jesus exposes the false labels upon divided groups of people. Pause with a breath surrendering to mercy and pray; ‘Jesus we receive your shalom to make us whole and complete as we confess our fears about others. Our fears and judgments about ourselves. We lay down our prejudices and thoughts about ‘those people’ to see all people as your beloved children crying out for mercy. Lord have mercy on us! Fill us with your peace so we may become blessed! Peacemakers! Peace Givers! Making what is broken mended between us. We let you heal the great divide between us, Through letting your light of truth and mercy break in. Fill us again with your peace today by cleansing and renewing our minds and hearts we pray. We carry your presence of peace in our thoughts and in our spoken words. May the joy of your living presence go before us. Amen Matt.15:21-28, John 20:19-23 August 3 Prayer
...if it is really You Lord… When we are in the middle of battling a storm we ask where the Lord is. When we are wrestling with our doubts and grief, is the Lord really there? Is it You Lord that calls me out to come, to have faith once again? Wherever you are struggling in your prayers see Jesus reaching out to touch you there. Pray; ‘Jesus, I cry out; save me and you hear my prayer, reach out and touch me. I touch you as you are touching me. In my doubts, in my pain and unanswered questions, In my desperation to be healed, you do not let me go unnoticed for you are already there. Help us to recognize where you are moving, In healing and where you want to bring reconciliation. Wash our eyes through our tears when we pray, breaking our hearts when we pray for others in their pains and struggles. May we be able to reach out and touch the ones that have wronged us, the ones we have judged as unclean, and unworthy of our attention. Is it really You Lord that is calling me out upon the waters of faith to be your hands reaching out to others that are sinking? Call us out as one body to be your church this day to bring the hope, faith and love to the world around us. Thank you Lord for the love that you have put inside of us. We never stop praying nor crying out for you to listen and You do answer through your heart that you placed in us.’ Amen Matt 14:22-33, Lk.8:42-48,Ps.116 DB Aug 2 Prayer
A blessing for the deserted places Come away in silence and solitude and receive a multitude of blessings. A blessing of the little becomes a blessing of much. In a deserted place miracles can happen with Jesus in our midst In grief He blesses, in exhaustion he gives away what has already been given from the offering in deserted places. Let’s come and meet him here, Together with compassion and vulnerability to give our all. Attend to and give to him whatever you already have and see it multiply. Pray; Lord Jesus, I bless the little in my life and offer all the broken bits, my gifts left unattended, my intentions and plans left undone. With compassion on myself and for others I bless your plans for my life today. I will nurture your gifts freely given to me and give out of your provision- Your very word and give it to others. I bless the peace and healing inside of me today. May my hands be a blessing to give away the little gifts that I have to others and see You multiply them. May I be a blessing, broken and given into much more than I can imagine. And see your miracles happen. Amen Matt.14:13-21 DB |
