October 9 Prayer
“Lord, if you measured us and marked us with our sins, who would ever have their prayers answered? But your forgiving love is what makes you so wonderful. No wonder you are loved and worshiped! This is why I wait upon you, expecting your breakthrough, for your word brings me hope.” Psalms 130:3-5 TPT Waiting takes time, forgiveness requires confession, hope rises by faith and we receive the promise of the Holy Spirit. These are truths revealed not by our own doings and rule making but through the blessing God gives us as his children passed on through the covenant of Love. Gal. 3:7-14 “A house divided cannot stand strong,a family splintered by feuding will fall apart.” Jesus says.Lk.11 How do we as his blessed family called to bless all nations through Abraham live our lives? How can we be the blessing for all people? I am thankful that he forgives us when we call, he hears our cries of confession and turning back around. Let us turn our hearts back to the law of love and be a new fool in the world. Like Francis of Assisi who gave up everything to follow Jesus' law of love towards everyone , “giving up the moneybag of his own opinions.” Pause to ask and respond to this question; What moneybag of opinions do you as God's family need to let go of? Prayer Gracious God, of loving mercy we come to you once again and ask you to open our minds and hearts to receive your Spirit of life. We ask for this gift of love to be placed within us, your church so we may be a people who bless all nations as you promised Abraham. May we find hope through your word in and through us today. May we have the courage to lay down what hinders us from being a blessing to others May we hang onto your promise of love living in us through your Spirit. Make us a people that are with you and not against you. May we gather with you and not be ones who scatter. May your kingdom come and your will be done on this earth as it is in heaven. Amen Comments are closed.
