October 7 Prayer
Once while Jesus was praying in a certain place...his disciples asked him, “Lord, teach us to pray.” Lk.11:14 A certain place,I wonder what that place was for Jesus. Others saw him there and were watching him pray. I wonder what they saw? There is a deep connection that happens in prayer, where this mystery of Christ in God, and the Holy Spirit praying through them happens. I want to feel that and know that deep connection with the three in one. Prayer is asking, prayer is thanking, prayer is crying out on behalf of others, prayer is resting, prayer is breathing, prayer is awe of all that is around you, prayer is being. Teach us to pray we ask, yet do we really want to learn because that means vulnerability to God and to our needs and to the needs of others. Breathe in love and receive this blessing from Psalm 20 , by Nan Merrill “May the one who created you in wholeness Meet your needs when you call! May the name of Love be your protection and rise up in your heart as a tower of strength! May all you have given in gratitude and with open hands be returned to you a hundredfold! May your heart’s desire and all your plans be fulfilled in due season! Let us shout for joy as Love triumphs over fear; Let our thankful hearts sing in loud acclamation to the Beloved, who answers our heartfelt prayers!” O Beloved, You who have created us, hear our call, make your home in our hearts! Amen Comments are closed.
