October 13 Prayer
“For freeedom Christ has set us free; stand firm and do not let anything enslave you,
...the only thing that counts is faith working through love.” Gal 5:1-6
God’s Grace is freely given, I know that, but when I do not experience grace and get caught up in the frustration of a broken down world I try to control it.
I try to find grace by making everything work again, to make right what is wrong, fix the broken appliance, the car, the router that all falls apart in one day. And then there are people that I try to fix and change to my liking and way of seeing things.
This is not living by grace!
This is not faith working through love!
We do not own grace, so we cannot control it by our own rules and guidelines.
Only through gratitude and acceptance will we return to a life of grace.
Pause now to surrender to him your anxiety, fear, frustrations and worries about the things that are not right for you.
Pray a prayer of gratitude from Ps. 71
“Giver of all good gifts, we return to you our gratitude for all that you have provided for us. For you have done wonderful things for us.
Even though I have gone through hardships,
Love was there and restored my life.
You lift me up from the depths and restore me to even greater honor.
You comfort me once again.
You are faithful to your promises.
You have ransomed me and will not abandon me as I grow old.
Thank you that I am created inside and out to be a container of your grace and glory.
May we all surrender to your grace in little things and the big things that come our way today.
Help us to see things the way they are and not as we are.
Change us to be people that give out grace and work out our faith through love.--
“May grace, mercy and peace be with you from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father's Son in truth and love.” 2John:3
