We recognize our failings and humbly come into the shelter of Christ’s heart , God's very gift of righteousness to us,His Son. We cannot follow and do good on our own. In this humble posture we pray,
“Lord we bring all of our scattered selves to you this day.
We cry out for healing, wholeness and awareness of when we fail and fall short.
This is an opportunity to return into your welcoming heart.
Let us own up to our own pride when we get down on ourselves, judging and condemning and let us find shelter in your goodness,
in your right way that rises up to greet us.
Keep us safe, O’ God, we come to you for refuge.
You are our good Shepherd, every good thing we have comes from you .
In you, we give thanks .”
