July 17 Prayer

Saturday slow down

Today I breathe
Not with a breath of holding
But with one of giving

Giving release from the confinements
of the week
Giving space between
The struggles and the grace

I let the window gaze at me
In cloudy brightness
Obscuring all that is outside

Today I slow down
To notice my own self
My own needs

to belong in this moment

And here is where I will surrender to
Love
and let myself be held
and rest awhile

Tomorrow I will begin again
to give again

Breathe deeply today in the slow down
