August 7 Prayer
Saturday Slowdown

Slowdown the pace today and find a grace
in the everything…

Tasks left undone.
In the cleaning and the working of the hands.
Pause to be present in the mundane chores

Offered as prayer and praise,
Let the washing become cleansing for your soul.

Rest in the child’s laughter and even in their complaining and demands that drive you crazy.

Slowdown your beating heart and
Look for a grace there.

In the push and pull,
take time to breathe in the shower and pray for rain.

Slowdown for a second hot cup and watch the steam rise letting your prayers go up with it.

As you slow down to notice
where the cracks are opening up to let the light break in.

Lean into grace today as you are present in everything you do.

“Love the lord alone, with all your heart, and all your soul, and with all your strength.
….Speak these words … whether you are busy or at rest, bind them at your wrist to be ever before you.’
