August 11 Prayer
We will have disagreements
as long as we are here on earth.
We are told to agree together on earth what is
already being done in heaven.
When we come together
In one accord to pray we
align ourselves with Jesus as the common ground.
It’s really does not need to be so complicated
but somehow it becomes so.
If we humble ourselves to sit in prayer with
the loving gaze of God upon us then soon
the gaze is returned.
It becomes reciprocal.
He holds our opposing hands together to
listen to our hearts, healing our need to be right
egos melt away into his gaze.
We become prisoners there held to the ground of being.
Being in accord with God.
Prisoners we are,
but prisoners of hope,
which opens the doorway into peacemaking.
Confess your need to pray;
‘I do not have all the answers but my soul needs to know
you know me.
And my soul needs to know your loving gaze so I may
look outwards to those that disagree and see them from
Peacemaking is not easy so I ask for your grace to strengthen me.
Strengthen us all in your love as we pray this day, and loosen
the strongholds of our egos to fade
away into your presence there in our midst.
I wonder what it would be like if ...
Every time we come together to pray,
we close our mouths and sit in your loving gaze
before we ask anything from you.
Could we come to an agreement through this kind of prayer….
We pray, come kingdom of Jesus, rule and reign in our lives today!
Shape us by what we love to become love.
