October 15 Prayer
Grace is simply believing It is faith in receiving I am forgiven and from this place I may forgive with the grace freely given. Grace is right in front of me, In the small child that wants to be with me. That’s shouts “look at me” “ listen to me” And I turn and give my full attention With more than a glance but a look from the heart and an eager ear to hear. Grace is presence. May we all learn to live in this reality of simply being, Believe and receive. And may we be the instruments of God’s Grace in little ways today. Amen Dee Brill Rom.4:1-8, Ps.32:1 October 14 Prayer
God is one Faith To The eternal Christ We come All wrong is made right Through faith All is grace when we can freely accept it. The birds sing outside my window with their morning melodies of praise. They know it, they feel it without any striving. Joy comes from the grace that flows freely from their little beings. With extended arms hungry for an embrace, freely receive his grace into your being as you pray. ‘Father, Creator of all living things, Thank you for this world we live in. Thank you for your forbearance and patience for when we fall into our own vices of control. Thank you for the grace that will be our companion today. We turn our eyes on Jesus who makes all things right through his own suffering on the cross. All is well here with You. And In You we trust. Let our hearts arise to be full of faith in the faithful One. We pray for those who are suffering and need your comfort to receive this grace through faith. We give you thanks for the grace to live another day. Let us live in it well.’ Amen Dee Brill Rom.3:21-30 October 13 Prayer
“Only in God is my soul at rest, from Him comes my hope and salvation. Everything I need comes from him. He’s a solid rock underneath my feet, breathing room for my soul, I shall not be disturbed at all.” Ps.62:1-2 This is easier said than done. We all certainly need some supernatural power to live undisturbed and in a calm state of peace. In the middle of the storm Jesus was resting in the stern of the boat. He was not disturbed by the storm but by the lack of faith of those that were paralyzed by their own fears. It only took his word of courage and command to calm the storm. “So why would I let worry paralyze me when troubles multiply around me? God’s glory is all around me! His wrap around presence is all I need…” vs 6-7 Today as you pray, take some breathing room for your soul as the Holy Spirit fills you with courage and faith. “Holy Spirit of Peace come and fill us with your power to trust and rest in you. We give to you all of our efforts, our struggles and distress. Give us the eyes to see your all surrounding presence throughout this day. May we bring your words of courage to calm the troubles we see in others. May we return to rest on solid ground trusting in your power to calm all of the storms that rage around us. Every moment we will trust in your love. All glory to your name Jesus. Amen Dee Brill Mark 4:39-41, Ps.62 October 12 Prayer
Honor God Give thanks Through creation to the Creator Eternal power Divine nature Furious storms swamped boats Honest souls cry out in fear and doubt Doesn’t God care? Where are you Lord when we need you? He is there all along He has been there Resting Within the Father's love and power Watch and see when the wind runs out of breath And all fears are calmed Within you This is the Grace to believe, To have faith in the middle of a storm. It is only by a supernatural power that we can find this kind of peace. As you pray today, take a very deep breath and recognize this ability is a gift from heaven above. Bless the rest within you As a place of refuge and a place of peace. “In the unknowing we come to you, Lord. We breathe in your sustaining power of grace to believe. You are good, You have this, We can trust you above what is going on around us. May we offer this kind of grace to others today. As we look for you everywhere, Thank you!” Amen Dee Brill Rom.1:16-20, Ps.142:2-5, Mark 4:35-38 October 11 Prayer
God’s Grace is fully a work within you. It starts small just like the seed planted It does need to be watered and nourished to grow. As you start a new day look within yourself and find the seed of grace that’s planted there. Breathing in the promise of his grace in you. His promise to be fulfilled in you. You belong to Jesus and that is where you will find grace. Grace to believe and grace to let his word endure in you today. Bless this Grace within you now as you pray; Lord, I receive that little seed and allow it to rise within me with every breath I take. May we see your seeds of grace and faith in others. Help us to be your conduits of growth for others by our faith, hope and love. May we return to this grace to believe what you have planted there will eventually grow. Give us eyes of faith to see it and show us how to water it when the ground feels so dry and hard. Let us step into your promise of fulfillment today in our lives and believe for you to do the work for others too. Show us the opportunities that you have already prepared for us this day. We take your hand to lead us on this adventure. Amen Rom.1:1-7,Mark 4:30-34 Dee Brill October 9 Prayer
Saturday Slow down Slow down your prayers Letting go of control In willingness and acceptance Breathe Recognize where you pull away Return to being known Slow down the judgment of others Let your prayers become a blessing of grace Everything else will fade away So let it fall and see joy arrive Hope For what is yet to come There is good news His Promise endures forever 1Pet.1:24-25 Dee Brill October 8 Prayer
Sometimes we get tired and our prayers become thin In the darkness when our hearts are wrought by tears. Then we must turn inward and bow low on behalf of those who need our prayers. When fairness is lost and it seems that despair is everywhere. This is when we pray even more and trust in the one that is like a mountain that cannot be shaken. “He gives strength to those who are tired; to the ones who lack power, he gives renewed energy.” Lord we pray Strengthen us to stand tall and trust in your everlasting wisdom that will give us understanding for our lives. We lift up our prayers for those in impossible situations For those that are facing darkness and suffering Bring your strength and comfort Hope and peace Redeem that which has brought harm into light to restore souls . We thank you for the way that you will bring Peace . Renew us through our prayers this day and give us the joy that comes in the morning as we begin again. May we be the vessels of prayers being poured out for those around us. Amen Isaiah 40:28-29 NET, Ps. 111:5-10,Joel1:13-15 Dee Brill October 7 Prayer
God comes to us in awe at times. It’s that awareness inside of each of us that there is something greater than us. Sometimes it’s in the majesty of creation or a moment of a blessing received that we do not deserve. God comes to us when a feeling of gratitude comes upon us and overwhelms us so much that we cannot contain it. We must show it in some way. God comes to us sometimes with a cause for justice. When we see things gone awry and evil surrounds us so we cannot be a bystander any longer but take some kind of action. There is a God center in us all and it is asking us to ask, searching in us to seek him, knocking on the doors of our hearts so we will open up to receive all that he wants to give us. So ask yourself today what are you asking for? What are you searching for and what door are you knocking on? Praying; “Come Holy Spirit We ask for you to come and fill us with all that we need today. All that we desire, all that we seek. And as we receive more of you may we find the doors being opened and walk through them boldly. May we be ready for the ones who are asking the questions, the ones who are truly searching and knocking on the doors of injustice to see your kingdom come. May we give away in abundance all that you are giving to us. For you are all that we need.” Amen Lk.11:5-13, Lk.6:38,Mk.4:25 Dee Brill October 6 Prayer
“So Jesus taught them this prayer: “Our heavenly Father, may the glory of your name be the center on which our life turns. May your Holy Spirit come upon us and cleanse us. Manifest your kingdom on earth.” Luke 11:2 TPT As we finish our last day on a tropical island I watch the morning glow of the sea brighten with a kiss of the sun. I am thinking about the way Jesus instructed us to pray. The beauty of this prayer that starts in a family relationship. It begins with honor, an awe of a spirit greater than us and is the Father of our spirit. So I begin this day bowing down with my feet firmly planted on the earth Looking up to the heavenly kingdom and rulership of a Father of love, peace and truth. Let us seek the face of God Let us wait and be strong Humble in heart, open and willing Believing that we will see the goodness of the Lord. And let us ask in prayer, Manifest your kingdom on earth Jesus be the center on which our lives turn May your Holy Spirit come upon us Making us new This day We pray. Amen Psalm 27:14 Dee Brill October 5 Prayer
Choose to listen Jesus sees Martha welcomes Mary listens Martha worries Mary sits Martha listens... Luke 10:38-42 It is not so much that Jesus is chastising Martha for her distractions and tasks in preparing his welcome. But he wants her to listen and know where she is anxious, worried, and burdened. It is there she will find him welcomed. When we move into Comparison and Judgment of others then we have forgotten to listen. When our worry overshadows the gift of being and sitting with Jesus then we must return to listening. Listen to your worried thoughts and give them over to pray; Lord, Help our worried overwhelmed hearts find a place to relax with you. May we be able to check ourselves when our tasks become burdens that we are not meant to carry. We let go of the control of comparing our accomplishments to others. May we sit and listen to your clear instructions to give us insight for living. Thank you Holy Spirit who guides us when we listen. Amen Where can you welcome Jesus and listen today?
