September 6 Prayer
‘God is closer to us Than we are to ourselves’ He says, stretch out your hand.. All that is withered All that is lost All that has been forgotten Stretch out your hand For I am closer than you are even aware Come a little closer to where I am living, breathing, walking, creating something new, healing, restoring, speaking words of life. Pleasure comes through connection So I now stretch out my hands Both hands as an offering of love, an offering of thanksgiving and let his creative love flow through them Every time I see my hands stretched out May I see your hands Lord, as mine Your right hand of victory and might, love and blessing and there will I find your delight. Amen Dee Brill Luke 6:6-11 September 4 Prayer
Saturday Slowdown Today may there be a blessing for gathering the misplaced and scattered pieces, for the cracked and ragged edges of our souls. May this blessing come from the hands of heaven to bring peace in the finding and the fitting, and in the melding back together every piece to make whole again. Bless this day of slowing down to look for the gold in every edge and to grasp a future hope for today. May our souls be reshaped into vessels to hold your peace and to be poured out for all. For all the nations of the earth we will pray, Shalom Amen Dee Brill September 3 Prayer
Col.1:15-20 Making peace comes with a price It cost Christ everything so that he would become everything in us. The blood sacrifice poured out into creation to bring all things together that were torn apart. All creation Heaven and earth Mobile beyond all motion Wisdom came To penetrate and pervade all things So that we may be a spotless mirror of the beauty of God. Pause here to pray; Lord, I have so many blemishes on my soul where I have been torn apart Lord make peace there Where I have sought my own will and my own rights Lord make your peace there Where I have refused to let others off the hook Make your peace there. For only you have the power to reconcile all things unto yourself On the cross So I come to you there Lay it all down And let you bring your peace there. May we be your spotless mirrors to reflect your face. The face of Christ that beholds the fathers glory. All things have been created for him, and through him and in him all things come together. Lord, Be first place in everything for us today we pray. Through us, Make peace there. Amen Dee Brill September 2 Prayer
Jesus climbs into Simon's boat, pushed out from the shore to teach… Lk.5:1-11 We each have a story of where Christ meets us. When he comes into our immediate circumstances, climbs into our washed up boats and then calls us forth. He calls each of us to meet him right where we are and to follow him right where He is. Pause a moment to examine where you are today. What disappointments are you holding? Where have you given up on faith, in yourself or in others? See Jesus come near and be right where you are with your thoughts. Pause here a while... What does He want to say to you? ‘My child, I have made you just as you are and I accept you fully as you are right now. Let me be the one to destroy all that holds you back, shame and fear has no place here. I am calling you out into the larger body of water that will be a place of freedom when you follow me. Bring to me all of your gifts, your knowledge and desires and let me reshape them to use them for my glory in this world. Who you are not is no longer needed but who you are when you follow me. ‘Let the simplicity of my image that is in the depths of you be set free to serve me in peace. Respond in prayer, Yes, Lord, I will follow you into new seas of possibilities with this one life you have given to me. As the psalmist writes; ‘There is no end to the discovery of the greatness that surrounds you... You have captured our attention and the eyes of all look to you….. The beautiful Lord of holiness from now through eternity.’ Psalm 145 Amen Dee Brill September 1 Prayer
“And the whole earth will be flooded with the knowledge of God as the waters cover the sea.” When Jesus comes He comes in peace, to make all things restored and made whole once again. When the kingdom of God comes there is peace. No longer will there be harm done, and destruction will cease. Because of the knowledge of God. And this knowledge becomes a flood of love that permeates every single part of you. Just as the sea is full of water, and every part of it floods and overflows with water. Love covers all so that peace will reign. Today I come in my weariness, with my questions and longing to know. I want to know more of you, God. I want my heart to be so flooded with your love that I could know no contrary way than the way of your peace. Peace be in me. May the love that you give to me, in my innermost being, flow out from the fullness of your spirit. May there be no other way in us than to find a way to make peace, here now, on earth with each other. There is no other way for this to be the kingdom way. “Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God.” Let us be so flooded with your love and the knowledge of your glory that we truly act like your children, for that is who we are. Heal us, forgive us, help us to forgive. May we become your sea of love and make peace today. Amen Dee Brill Is.11:9,Lk.4:38-44, Matt.5:9 |
