July 20 Prayer
‘Let something happen in me today Something more and bigger than me Let me walk on dry ground like Moses did Let me stretch out my hands in power. In the stretching out of my hands I release the strongholds that have enslaved me. In the stretching out I feel an openness, A saying yes to fullness, In the emptiness. Go ahead Stretch out unto the dry ground Take the next step Knowing Jesus is there with you Stretched out for you on the cross Stretched out to hold you there with him In safety, In his unfailing love that leads to resurrection Stretched out into a joy that comes in the hidden places Power and might to say no to every oppressive thought, stretched out from distress with his authority to speak out; Do not fear, you are safe, you are healed, you are set free! Today we pray, Stretch us out into all of your being, Jesus, to be where you are. Take us closer to your heart that we may sing songs of joy about your unfailing love. That we may be unfailing in love to others. Amen Ps.59:16-17, Ex.14:21-29 DB July 19 Prayer
I arise to hear You say, ‘Do not be afraid Stand firm and let me accomplish the fight for freedom Let me part the waters before you and remove the obstacles that keep you from moving ahead..’ I arise today and give thanks on the altar of morning knowing that You are my strength my hope and trust I will greet this new day with courage to stay in the stillness of being to allow you to fight the battle I will hold up your staff of promise and see you in the midst to part the walls and make a way through the wilderness before me Let this new day arise within us all to be a part of the greater hope to see your healing come. Amen DB Ex.14:5-18, 15:1-13 Saturday slow down
Today I breathe Not with a breath of holding But with one of giving Giving release from the confinements of the week Giving space between The struggles and the grace I let the window gaze at me In cloudy brightness Obscuring all that is outside Today I slow down To notice my own self My own needs to belong in this moment And here is where I will surrender to Love and let myself be held and rest awhile Tomorrow I will begin again to give again Breathe deeply today in the slow down DB July 16 Prayer
“I am never alone for the Father is always with me.” The lord is the everlasting God , creator of all the earth He never grows weak or weary, No one can measure the depths of his understanding He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless~ Is.40:28-29 Here is rest Where we eat the bread of presence Breaking down the boundaries of restraint The rules and demands we put on ourselves We can never measure up to Prayer; Lord, I do not understand the depth of your love The measure of your acceptance and presence that never leaves us alone I come and enter your place of rest I receive your mercy today I receive the grace to enter into a relationship of intimacy with you Letting go of the shame of being weak I call upon the strength that is on the inside I let you become my all in all My everything In every situation You are Lord over my thoughts I receive the power to change my thinking and let your merciful love overpower the lies I let my heart find rest in the body of Christ Broken for me, Broken for all For you never leave me alone You are always with me.” May I offer the bread of presence to the one that is lonely today. Amen DB Matt.12:1-8, Jn.16:2 July 15 Prayer
This is my name… What is in a name? We so desperately want to name what we own so it becomes our possession. Mine! God says my name is “I am” Not someone you can own or make to your own likeness Not something you can reshape or redesign. “I am who I am” Pause in the wonder of God who is being essence of all being Who calls you to come unto him his heart the heart of Jesus meek and humble Let him hold your head high Let his being become your glory and find rest in his heart. Let his glory surround and cover you, and become your shield of protection until your inheritance becomes his name, the ground of your own being. We pray; We come to you with all of us to grab a hold of all of you. All that we do not know we let you take the lead in. May we learn from you the steps of your dance of a greater grace. May our footsteps find their home surrounded in your presence as we stay close to your heart , the center of it all. To dance upon injustice, lies and all that takes us away from you. We hold on to the ribbon of grace that will never let us go. Teach us your dance today so that love abounds and holds us in the center of your being. You are who you are and you will never change your love for us. Thanks be to the great I am! amen DB Ex.3:13-20,Ps.3:3-4, Matt.11:28-30 July 14 Prayer
God hears the cries of the oppressed He notices He calls us by name in the noticings He appears In the most peculiar ways as we are in our day to day doings in our callings, in what captures our attention. Here is becoming holy ground... Here we pray; Open unto me the way unknown to me that I may walk upon your path of light and grace. Open unto me a way of noticing the great I am is with me Divne made flesh this Jesus, spirit in me. Open unto me the lost and wounded child sitting on the street corner that I may notice you there, that i may speak the word ‘I am with you’ to set the captives free The I am is here! Make this ground holy, this space sacred May I do the same when I hear you call my name out of the most peculiar places unto the lost forgotten faces Push me further Lord, to go forward remembering you have done great things in every generation, and you are here and will do great things again. I declare You are with me. May I expect to see you appear in the faces I see today. Do great things through your people. Amen DB Ex.3:1-12 July 13 Prayer
Psalm 138 “You increase the strength of my soul.” As I read this psalm wth all of its declarations I stop to consider; What does create strength in my soul? Who is it that deepens life within me? Where do I find the strength fro my soul? At the beginning of the day I give thanks for a new beginning even though I have too many things to do today, pressures of mounting takes and unfinished projects, I must remember who is with me, praise and pray asking for help from the spirit for the more that will come. Lay everything before Him now to pray along with the psalmist; ‘Lord, Today, I will bow down towards your holy temple I will give thanks to your name and for your promises to me ‘When I call you answer me You increase the strength of my soul.’ ‘You are high and look on the lowly, You give life though I walk amid affliction, O Lord, your merciful love is eternal.’ You are the more I desire, deepen you life within me. I want to choose the better than. Breathe fresh courage in me today, May every word I speak would bring healing life, that every task would become a sacrament, that you will finish every good thing that you began in me. Strengthen my soul today to move with grace along the pathway for the better, the way that leads to finding beauty in everything. amen DB July 12 Prayer
There are heavenly places where we can receive every spiritual blessing. In God's dwelling place How lovely it is when we can go there Even the sparrow and swallow find their home A place of refuge and protection, Rest and joy. At a higher plain we gain something more for our something less, Tucked in the side under the eaves of the temple. Out under the cathedral of trees Exposed in safety and security I pray Hide me there with you Lord Until I have strength to take flight again. May I bring a sense of joy with me when I am able to worship you in all things And be able to see you everywhere in everyone In the lost and wounded And in my own broken down body May I find your dwelling place today and be there with you as you are with me. May we receive everything we need from on high in the Spiritual blessings you provide. Let us know that we are loved and cared for. Bring your hope to the helpless as you hear their cries. Amen Psalm 84:4-6,Eph.1:3-14 DB July 10 Prayer
Saturday slow down I see your face in the grace given to me in a fretful challenge In the mystery and in the lapse of memory. The lost and misplaced to be found once again in the face of grace. Today in the slowdown help me to remember help is here. To fully receive your grace and to freely give. A word of grace, peace and respite. A little bit of water upon the seed of faith. A quiet whisper reminding me to slow down and return. Be willing to accept this moment of today. Saturday Blessings! DB Matt.10:28-31 July 9 Prayer
“Do not fear, Do not worry, For I am here to help you.” Is.41;13 When you wake up in the middle of the night, with worry and concern, When the future seems to taunt you in a panic, Remember these words “I am here to help you .” Then ask for help. Take it one bit at a time, To unpack the worry and fear, Where it begins in your mind Where it is held, Feel it then let it go to Jesus. It really does not need to be over complicated. He has a firm grip on you and will not let you go. So let your own enemies go. He will take care of it all. Pause to pray a prayer of trust, Lord Help! Thank you Jesus! Amen DB |
